Why scanned PDFs are different

A scanned PDF is really just an image inside a PDF wrapper. Standard converters cannot read it because there is no text layer. Our converter uses OCR (optical character recognition) to read each page, then runs an AI cleanup pass that snaps fragmented words back into proper rows — so totals stay aligned and decimal points stay where they belong.

Best results checklist

• Scan at 300 DPI or higher when possible.
• Convert in colour or greyscale for better contrast on faded prints.
• Crop tightly around the page; remove black borders.
• Enable AI table cleaning when prompted to fix multi-line cells.

What works well

Insurance claim forms, lab results, medical reports, scanned bank statements, vintage financial reports, printed timesheets, archived government records. If the source has a recognisable tabular structure, the converter will preserve it.
